Rehabilitating Illness and Injury
Direct Access Physical Therapy
In the State of Louisiana, you no longer need a prescription to seek relief from physical therapy. If you have insurance, we will help you coordinate your benefits. We also accept self-pay physical therapy patients who do not have insurance.
Athletic injuries require special attention. We have certified athletic trainers on staff who can work with you to reach your goals and get you back on the playing field. Whether you are a professional athlete, a student athlete, or a weekend warrior on the back nine, we can help you play your best game!
Fall Risk Assessments
Our team of physical therapists at PT South use proven methods to measure and assess your gait (the way you walk), among other indicators, to determine how likely you are to fall. This is called your “fall risk factor,” and if treated in time, can minimize your risk for falls. Once a fall risk assessment has been given, a plan of care can then be recommended for strength, gait and balance training.
Physical Therapy South has a staff of trained therapists who can perform a biomechanical assessment, which is a detailed analyses and investigation of injuries and conditions presenting in lower limbs. These examinations can help determine the root cause of foot, ankle, knee, hip, and even back pain in some cases.
Wellness and Fitness
Members of The Wellness Center at Physical Therapy South receive a full evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. This evaluation will give you a clear understanding of your musculoskeletal health before you begin a workout program. Conveniently located near Our Lady of Lourdes, River Ranch, Parc Lafayette and Ambassador Town Center.
Alter-G Anti Gravity Treadmill
The Alter-G Anti-Gravity Treadmill allows patients to bear only part of their weight while being supported by the patented suspension system, essentially making them defy gravity by being “lighter” during a treadmill workout.
